Medics were recently filmed dropping the human heart that was being rushed to a patient in need of a transplant.

The heart was driven across police-cleared streets to the airport strip where a private plane was waiting, successfully transferred to the plane and then carefully unloaded on its arrival.

But as the medics hurried to transport it to the hospital - the cooler opened, and the heart, which was wrapped in plastic, fell out.

A quick-thinking medic grabbed the heart off the ground and returned it to the cooler, The Health Department confirmed it arrived at the hospital where the recipient was waiting.

The heart was not affected by the drop, according to doctors.
