Todd Chrisley, star of “Chrisley Knows Best,” told FOX411 he doesn't try to hide anything about his life from the cameras.
“What you see on the show is exactly what we are doing in our real life,” he said. “So I think that basically we live our life very openly. We don't care or have the energy to try to hide anything from you.”
Chrisley stars on the show alongside wife Julie and their children. The show is currently in its fourth season and just got picked up for the fifth.
The father of five revealed he never thought TV was in the cards but he believes he has his show thanks to God.
“It’s amazing where we end up in our lives… and for us to end up on television, I just believe it’s God’s way of saying ‘I’ve given you a voice. I’ve now provided you a platform, use both for the better of everyone else in the world,’” he said. “I’m so blessed to have this opportunity, but did we ever think we were going to be on television? No.”
The Chrisleys recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.
“What keeps the spark alive…it’s faith and friendship, companionship, mutual respect for each other, and I think you have to have a lot of sex.”
While Chrisley is a bit of a jokester, he is seriously concerned about the upcoming presidential election.
“I think it’s a very challenging time for our country right now,” he said. “Do I believe in the things Donald spews from his mouth? No, because he’s been proven to be a liar. Do I believe the things that come from Hillary’s mouth? No, because she’s been proven to be a liar. Do I like to see them banter back and forth? Yeah, I do because it’s like standing there watching the train wreck that you know is going to happen.”
“Chrisley Knows Best” airs Tuesday nights on USA.
