Drummer Butch Trucks, who was a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, died on Tuesday, his rep confirmed to Fox News. He was 69.

Trucks died in West Palm Beach, Florida. His cause of death was not immediately clear.

“The Trucks and Allman Brothers Band families request all of Butch’s friends and fans to please respect our privacy at this time of sadness for our loss,” his rep said in a statement. “Butch will play on in our hearts forever.”

The Allman Brothers Band was formed by Trucks, Duane and Gregg Allman, Berry Oakley, Dickey Betts and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson in 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida. Trucks recorded with the band through 2014.

Trucks is survived by his wife, four children and four grandchildren.
