There's a new queen of country music in town.
Carrie Underwood tearfully accepted the award for female vocalist of the year at last night's Country Music Association Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone arena.
"Glory to God, thank you Jesus," Underwood said.

The "Dirty Laundry" singer's win broke fellow singer Miranda Lambert's six-year winning streak for the award. It was the fourth time Underwood won female vocalist. She previously won in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

While many fans felt Underwood's win was well-deserved, Lambert fans expressed outrage online over the former female vocalist winner's loss.
