Noah Galloway and his fiancée Jamie Boyd have ended their engagement, the "Dancing With the Stars" alum announced on Instagram.

"After long and careful consideration we’ve decided to end our engagement," Galloway wrote alongside a picture of the pair. "We love each other deeply and we’re confident we will remain friends. While we wanted to share this you, we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Galloway proposed five months ago live on "Dancing With the Stars." The army veteran who lost two limbs in 2005 from a bomb blast in Iraq came in third place on the reality competition show.

"The day I met her, I knew that this was going to be somebody I was going to ask to marry me," Galloway told Us Weekly at the time of his engagement to Boyd. "She's really made me a better person because of who she is and what she stands for."

Galloway has three children from two previous marriages.
