A Ukrainian politician is under fire for using an anti-Semitic slur referring to actress Mila Kunis in a Facebook rant.
Igor Miroshnichenko said Kunis (who was born in the Ukraine and is Jewish) is not a true Ukrainian, and called the actress a "zhydovka," according to TMZ. The term translates to "dirty Jewess," according to Los Angeles' Simon Wiesenthal Center, and has reportedly been used as a pejorative against Jewish people dating back to the Holocaust.
In a letter to the Ukrainian prime minister, a rabbi from the Center describes the term as "a slur invoked by the Nazis and their collaborators as they rounded up the Jews to murder them at Babi Yar and in the death camps," according to the report.
Kunis has not commented on the situation.
