Kim Kardashian was placed on an official Australian Immigration Department watch list after breaching her visa application -- three times.
Despite being such a famous face, Kardashian apparently pretended to be a tourist on her recent Australian visit.
She went to Australia to launch her handbag range and her in-store appearances were widely advertised. They were made even more prominent because she had recently split with husband Kris Humphries.
The launch in Sydney attracted worldwide headlines and coverage -- and did not go unnoticed at the Immigration Department.
A subsequent investigation found that two of Kardashian's earlier visits -- made in 2007 and last year -- were also for business purposes.
The Immigration Department declined to comment on Kardashian directly, but issued a read-between-the-lines statement, saying, "If people are undertaking work in Australia, they need to be on an appropriate visa with work conditions attached to it."
"If people do breach conditions, then the department can counsel them or cancel that person's visa ... and the department may record their breaches and immigration history," it said. "Their history would be taken into account if they apply for another visa to enter Australia."
