In this week’s FOX411 Country round-up, we feature Toby Keith’s internet hit “Red Solo Cup” which has not only earned him over 3 million online views, it’s also now made its way onto the playlist for Fox’s “Glee”!
According to Keith’s rep, the hit TV show will feature the song in early December. The quirky “Red Solo Cup” is off Keith’s latest album “Clancy’s Tavern” which debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
In touring news, CMA Vocal Group of the Year Lady Antebellum who are also celebrating going platinum with their third album “Own the Night” have kicked off their headlining arena tour of the same name with a sold out concert in Knoxville, Tenn. While also helping folks make their concert plans, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, who have announced they will reunite for the 2012 ‘Brothers of the Sun’ Tour. The 19-stadium run will be the first time in ten years that the two have toured together and it will feature special guests Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
When we recently spoke with Chesney and Potter at the BMI Country Awards red carpet about his last run, Chesney said “It was a fun year, we had a blast and it was a very exciting summer for us. Grace was out there for a lot of it and I can’t tell you how much fun it was to have her come out and sing a song together.”
We also asked if the success of this last tour encouraged him to keep the ball rolling or if he would take some time off like he did before and it seems he plans to get in a good mix of both, “I may get into a pattern where I take some time off every now and then. I don’t know that the next ten years of my life is going to look like the last ten.” See what else he had to say in this week’s round-up.
"American Idol" Season Ten's country music stars also have big plans coming up country music stars,. Both Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina plan to entertain this Thanksgiving. McCreery previously announced he’ll take part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and when FOX411 Country spoke with him at the CMA Awards red carpet about it, he told us how excited he is to be part of something he’s been watching for years, “I go to my great-grandma’s house every Thanksgiving, that’s kind of the tradition and we’d watch it, then we’d watch the football games.”
And his season ten runner-up Lauren Alaina has big plans of her own. She’s set to perform the national anthem at the first game of NFL’s Thanksgiving Day tripleheader between host Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers on FOX.
