From Lady Gaga to Lea Michele: Which Actress Should Play Amy Winehouse?

It hasn't even been a month since Amy Winehouse died at age 27, and already a biopic about her tragically short life is reportedly in the works.

Plans for a movie about the soulful singer have already been discussed with her family, The Sun claims, adding that the search for the right actress to play her has begun.

"The feeling is there wouldn't be an actress under 30 who wouldn't want to play her," an insider told the tabloid. "The first job is to get financial backing from co-production companies in the States. Some are showing interest because it's a sure-fire money-spinner."

Winehouse fan Lady Gaga has already been linked to the role, after an insider told The Daily Star that "Gaga's been itching to make the transition from music into movies and sees this as the ideal role to launch her film career."

Gaga may have the looks and the voice, but Lindsay Lohan knows better than anyone what it's like to NOT want to go to rehab. Taylor Momsen has the "pretty reckless" behavior down pat ... but Lea Michele kind of looks like Winehouse if you squint really hard.
