LOS ANGELES – Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards has welcomed a new addition to her family -- adopting a baby girl, People magazine reported Wednesday.
Richards, 40, an actress and former model, has two daughters with Sheen -- Sam, 7, and Lola, 6.
Her adopted daughter -- who was born in the United States -- has been named Eloise Joni Richards, after Richards' mother, Joni, who died of cancer in 2007.
"Eloise Joni Richards is named after Denise's mom [Joni], and Denise and her daughters Sami and Lola chose the name Eloise," Richards' rep told People.
"Denise and Eloise's big sisters couldn't be happier and feel incredibly blessed."
After news of the adoption broke, Richards tweeted, "Thank you all for your sweet messages. The girls and I are over the moon and so is my dad Grandpa Irv...xo"
Richards has appeared in films including "Scary Movie 3," "Starship Troopers," "Wild Things" and "The World Is Not Enough."
She also appeared on the reality TV show, "Denise Richards: It's Complicated."
Richards was married to Sheen from 2002 to 2006.
